# NDPR toolkit

> Manage data protection compliance under Nigeria Data Protection Regulation 2019.

**Org Admin only.** Other roles cannot access the NDPR tab.

The NDPR toolkit covers data protection obligations under NDPR 2019 and NITDA regulations.

## What the toolkit includes

* **DPA status**: track Data Processing Agreements with processors
* **Data processing register**: record all processing activities
* **NITDA filing status**: track annual compliance filings
* **Breach recording**: log data breaches with the 72-hour notification deadline

## Record a data breach

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Compliance">Go to **Compliance**, then **NDPR**.</Step>

  <Step title="Click Record breach">
    Enter the breach details: date discovered, nature of breach, data subjects affected, and
    containment actions taken.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Monitor the timer">The 72-hour countdown starts when you save the record.</Step>

  <Step title="Record NITDA notification">
    Once notification is sent, mark the breach as reported and dismiss the timer.
  </Step>

<Warning>
  Under NDPR 2019 and NITDA regulations, a qualifying data breach must be reported within 72 hours
  of becoming aware of it. The timer in Largence reflects this deadline. Missing it has regulatory
  consequences.

## The 72-hour deadline timer

The timer appears on the breach record and on the Compliance dashboard. Dismiss it only after NITDA notification is confirmed sent.

## Data processing register

Add processing activities with purpose, legal basis, data categories, retention period, and processor details. Review and update the register when processing activities change.
