# Evidence

> Manage exhibits, chain of custody, disclosure, and trial bundles.

  The Evidence workspace requires the evidenceModule entitlement. Available on Learn, Edge, Vertex,
  and Zenith. CPR35 expert compliance checks are designed for UK Civil Procedure Rules but apply
  equally to Nigerian corporate dispute matters.

Open Evidence from the Launchpad or navigate to `/apps/evidence` and select a matter.

## Evidence index

The matter-scoped register logs every item of evidence. Integrity verification checks file hashes on upload and records the result on each item.

## Exhibits

Schedule and label exhibits with court-ready codes (C1, D1, J1). Codes are assigned based on exhibit type and sequence within the matter.

## Chain of custody

Record every handoff of a piece of evidence. The custody log is cryptographically verified. Each entry records who held the evidence, when, and why it was transferred. This matters for litigation admissibility.

## Disclosure

Build the disclosure list with obligation checking against applicable rules. Use the finalise and serve workflow to mark the list as served and record the service date.

## Trial bundles

## Witnesses

Manage witness schedules and statements. Link witness statements to evidence items and exhibits.

## Experts

Manage expert instructions and reports. CPR35 compliance checks verify that expert reports meet disclosure requirements including the duty to state facts, assumptions, and range of opinion.

Record joint statements and meeting notes between experts.

## Chronology

Auto-generate a chronology from matter documents or import events manually. Flag disputed events for trial preparation. Export the chronology as PDF or link to a matter document.

## Settings

Configure evidence workspace preferences per matter: exhibit numbering scheme, disclosure obligations, and bundle formatting.
